am writing one of my rare articles this time discussing traffic in almora city.
Earlier almora was a little city with small population and enough space to accommodate the market rush, which also happened to be small.
With development of city, people started inhabiting almora and lead to gradual increase in population.
With increasing population market started to expand and so did the traffic across National Highway.
As market was developed instantly without much management, space arised as a problem.
Road was not of much width to accommodate traffic and hence was planed to make it Oneway giving rise to construction of a Bypass from Karbla to Pandekhola.
Vehicles coming from Kosi side are now not allowed to go through the upper road and hence forth are directed towards Pandekhola route via Base to Karbala where it joins the main highway.
While going towards Kosi, the point of intersection of two roads is followed by Almora Development Pradhikaran office.
Now even the two way bypass system seems weak against the load we are receiving each year henceforth is the construction of a new bypass was decided and proposed to meet the high traffic demands.
The new highway is kept at top priority of development to ensure maximum speed to completion of this product. construction of this highway has been started with some phases near to completion.
This new highway is being build at lower part of the hill and would be handling the traffic that is not needed to enter the city.
Hopes are that we would get rid of the traffic problem ASAP.
